A SPECIAL event offered business women the chance to network and shop while raising money for charity.

The Women In Business Network (WIBN) held a fundraising shopping event at the Grovefield House Hotel, in Taplow Common Road, Burnham, on Monday. Business professionals browsed stalls selling clothing, jewellery and cosmetics, while valuers Gold Guys were on hand assessing unwanted gold jewellery at the event, which ran from 10am-12.30pm.

Proceeds from the event - which raised £250, partially from the £5 entry fee - will go towards The Hospice Lottery, a charity supporting hospices in the area.

Amanda McDermott, from WIBN, said: "We are thrilled that the event raised much needed funds for our chosen charities, I'd like to thank all of the ladies who donated to the fund, provided raffle prizes and came along to support the morning. Special thanks must also go to the Grovefield House Hotel which kindly donated the venue, refreshments and a prize of afternoon tea for two."
