John Lewis Reading has been inundated by jobseekers from across the country as it gears up for the busy festive period with less than a month to go until the big day.
Personnel manager Jayne Sellars said: "We look for people who appreciate the importance of excellent customer service and are willing to go that extra mile for customers visiting our shops.
"Making sure that customers enjoy their experience and are satisfied with the service they have received is the number one priority for all our partners."
The Christmas temps will fill a variety of sales assistant roles across a number of departments, including the Christmas shop, furnishing accessories, homeware and electrical technology.
The team will support the shop during its extended trading hours from December 8, when it will be open from 9am-8pm weekdays, 9am-7pm on Saturdays and 11am-5pm on Sundays in the run up to Christmas Eve.
