KEEN racing drivers have been motoring on some of the world's best courses after Berkshire's first race car simulation venue opened.
The Race Hut, inside Slough Ice Arena, Montem Lane, Slough, was opened on Friday November 9.
The venue includes 16 state-of-the-art simulators each featuring a full-size racing seat, force feedback steering wheel, racing pedals and high definition and 3D graphics.
David Goode, The Race Hut race director, said: "We can have 16 cars on track at any one time racing wheel-to-wheel. We have a very wide and growing selection of cars and tracks for our customers so there is something to suit everyone."
The venue has a licensed bar and a lounge area with timing screens and live television coverage of the racing.
Visitors can race in open sessions for individuals, to heats against other drivers and even team endurance racing for larger groups and corporate events.
Mr Goode added: "We've used software which is used by a number of the F1 teams, along with our own management software, to give groups the opportunity to experience racing and compete. It's high adrenaline, great fun and completely safe."
The venue will open up racing leagues in the New Year. For more information about the venue call 01753 534363.
