Mamma Mia!
Starring Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth.
Based on the hit West End musical and featuring many of Abba's greatest hits not to mention a terrific ensemble cast, this film adaptation seems sure to be a really fun experience. The plot revolves around a soon to be married girl Sophie(Amanda Seyfried), and her efforts to discover who her real father is before her big day arrives. She finds her mother's diary and learns that there are three possibilities which complicates matters further. She decides that the best option available to her is to invite the three men in question to her wedding in Greece and therefore when her real father is revealed, he will be able to walk her down the aisle.
Sam, Harry and Bill, played by Brosnan, Firth and Stellan Skarsgard respectively arrive on the island and are somewhat perplexed by the curious nature of the invitations. Sophie's mother Donna(Steep), is shocked at first but then pleasantly surprised to see her three old flames together as she finds out there is still some chemistry between her and each of the three men.
It will be interesting to see such established stars as Streep, Brosnan and Firth perform their singing scenes as they are definitely not known for the prowess of their voices but credit must go to them for taking a risk to appear in a family movie that judging from the trailer is sure to put the audience in a joyous mood from beginning to end.
