Letter: Bordering on a geographical error
WITH reference to the headline in last week’s Chronicle “Free travel nationally with pass”, and Mike Orton’s comment “free bus travel has been extended nationally” for pensioners.
The remainder of the article correctly refers to England.
It is important to note that pensioners will not be allowed to travel free in the countries of Scotland and Wales. The great New Labour devolution cock-up has seen to that.
I have heard that road blocks are to be set up at border control points into those two countries where the sponging English pensioners who refuse to pay, once they cross the border, will be ejected from the bus and deported back to England.
Any Scot or Welsh resident in England will of course be allowed to continue on their way, free of charge.
Good ’ere innit!
