Slough hoodoo not a problem
By Charles Watts
DWIGHT Parrish insists that the stranglehold Slough Jets have held over his side this season will count for nothing when the two teams meet in the EPL Cup final in a fortnight.
The Bracknell Bees coach saw his side reach the showpiece event when they snatched a dramatic 4-2 overtime victory in the second leg of their semi-final against Milton Keynes last Thursday.
The win, sealed by Joe Baird’s effort, gave Bracknell a 7-6 aggregate victory and set up the two-legged date with Slough who saw off the Sheffield Scimitars in the other semi.

Parrish said: “Slough have got a good squad and are right up there challenging in the league so it should be a great final.
“We’ve struggled at their place this year but we had at Milton Keynes as well so we’ve showed that past form counts for nothing.
“It’s been a while since we last played them and we’ve built up a lot of confidence in recent weeks.
“We will also have a chance to feel them out before the final as we’ve got them in the league just before.
“We’re both pretty evenly matched and even though they’ve edged us out so far this season it will all come down to who’s best on the night.”
The first leg of the final will be played at The Hive on either February 13 or 14, with the return leg at the Hanger a week later, and Parrish will be hoping his side can do the business before the tricky away trip.
Bracknell have no game this weekend but face the Chelmsford Chieftains at The Hive on Wednesday (8pm fo) in a Knockout Cup clash.
